KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC – STI, a family-owned textile mill that has been in continuous operation since 1964, celebrated the completion of a 150,000 square foot expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony this past Tuesday, January 9th.
The expansion was driven by the rapid growth of Revolution Performance Fabrics. Unlike many other performance fabrics, Revolution is 100% made in the United States and contains no PFC chemicals. Revolution was introduced to the marketplace in 2014 and has steadily become the preferred performance brand for consumers seeking a family friendly, stain resistant fabric.
“We believe this pace of growth will continue and we are committed to Revolution always being made in the United States,” said Sean Gibbons, CEO. Today, the company employs 350 people and the new facility is an expansion of their existing 360,000 square foot plant. STI has begun the hiring and training process for the 100 additional jobs the expansion will require.
STI prides itself on being one of the few domestic textile mills left in the United States and providing their customers with excellent service. Once the new plant is operational, STI’s lead times will be 4 – 6 weeks.
