International Textile Alliance continues to monitor health developments related to COVID-19 and analyze its impact on the dates of the upcoming Showtime market.
March 13, 2020, HIGH POINT, N.C. – Responding to fast-moving developments related to COVID-19, including the recent postponement of the April High Point Market, the International Textile Alliance (ITA) is monitoring and evaluating the dates of its upcoming May Showtime® Market. The organization continues to gather feedback from the industry and expects to make a final decision within the next week. At present, Showtime Market is scheduled to take place May 17-20, 2020.
“ITA continues to stay on top of the COVID-19 situation—locally and around the world—and analyze its impact on our upcoming spring Showtime market,” explained Brian Casey, CEM, executive director of ITA. “Our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of Showtime participants and the High Point/ Triad community. If there is any threat to our stakeholders or community, we will not hold Showtime market as scheduled and we will communicate this immediately if that decision becomes necessary.”
While evaluating the ongoing situation surrounding COVID-19, ITA is considering all its options, including moving forward with Showtime market as scheduled May 17-20; postponing Showtime market until June; or canceling this season’s Showtime market.
“Knowing our industry needs answers, we are committed to making a timely, well-informed decision regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the dates of our spring Showtime market, and to keeping everyone fully updated,” said Casey.
