Ultrafabrics launches Spectra at Showtime 2021, a Breathable Performance Textile with a Woven Appearance

New York-based Ultrafabrics launches Spectra, a textured and breathable addition to its portfolio of the world’s best performance fabrics. Launching this month at the ITA Showtime Market in High Point, North Carolina, attendees can see the product in-person from May 16-19th, 2021. This ground-breaking collection has been carefully formulated to look like a woven surface, and is engineered with proprietary technology that allows the fabric to breathe and moderate body temperature in seating applications. It also has acoustical benefits.

The Ultrafabrics brand is known for its premium next-generation materials that are used in 11 different markets, which include commercial and residential design, automotive, aviation, medical, marine and contract furniture, amongst others.

As with every innovative product that is crafted in the Ultrafabrics Japanese mill, Spectra exceeds the highest expectations for quality and softness. Over 20 years ago, Ultrafabrics sought to redefine expectations of animal-free fabrics and has continued to raise the bar on comfort and performance ever since. Every fabric coming out of its mill is a premium, sustainable and intelligent product that speaks to—and elevates—the senses.

The design was inspired by the geometry of contemporary architecture, the fragmented texture features a tone-on-tone prismatic effect. The color palette is a nod to the Bauhaus and Art Deco movements: a mixture of brights, complex shades and neutrals are featured in the sizeable offering of 19 shades.

A.R. Swan, Director of Marketing adds, “We’ve always had our ear to the ground in all of the markets we serve. From interiors to automotive and aviation, the market is looking to expand their options beyond leather-like solutions. Spectra merges the beauty of woven fabric with the durability and breathable technology that is unmatched in the market.” He continues, “Spectra’s texture captures the richness of woven and is equally comfortable in luxury residence, healthcare environment or on the seat of a truck. Like with all our products. It’s bleach cleanability is top of mind with all of our clients.”

Made in Japan and used all over the world, Ultrafabrics is in a category of its own. Through color and texture, the brand creates possibilities that inspire clients to dream bigger.

Future-focussed Partnerships

Ultrafabrics works closely with organizations that are creating a better future for all. In that spirit, we are pleased to donate a portion of our profits from Spectra throughout 2021 to Create.
