Surviving and Thriving in a Post COVID, VUCA Global Supply Chain Landscape
During the meeting Greg Schlegel will present a brief discussion covering the supply chain of the textile industry, supply chain risk and resiliency in our new VUCA world. Unlike value-added chains for several other industries, textiles and apparel include a great number of process stages, carried out by different successive industry units. Along with the material flow, the value-added chain is structured in the steps of fiber production, spinning, weaving/knitting, finishing, cutting and sewing, merchandising, wholesale/retail, consumption, and disposal/recycling. We will talk about the technology found in the Purely Protected^® leathers and how it reduces the scratching, fading, staining, and color variation found in aniline leathers. The presentation will feature a demonstration of how the Purely Protected leather compares to a Pure Aniline leather by seeing how each stands up to staining and scratching. We will also discuss the tanning process for the Purely Protected leathers. Location: MSTT 5th Floor Seminar Room & Zoom.

How wood-based fibers are primed to become the alternative natural fiber of choice for home textiles.
