Our company specializes in tartan (aka plaid) worsted wool fabrics for use in home furnishings and upholstery. Tartan has become synonymous with Scottish heritage just like single malt whisky and golf. An official register of tartans was established in 2008 where a tartan is defined as a design which is capable of being woven consisting of two or more alternating coloured stripes which combine vertically and horizontally to form a repeated chequered pattern. All previously recorded designs were included in the new register. New designs have been submitted on a regular basis and we also offer a design service including registration with the Scottish Register.
