Elise Gabrielson is a marketing executive and home furnishings industry leader whose  career has been defined by building brands, cultivating meaningful industry  relationships, and transforming innovative ideas into compelling consumer experiences.

As Vice President of Marketing at Crypton, Gabrielson leads the strategic vision and  marketing of one of the textile industry’s most recognized performance technology  brands. Her responsibilities span brand strategy, advertising, public relations, digital and  content marketing, creative direction, partnerships, events, and internal  communications, reaching audiences across both the residential and commercial design  industries.

Gabrielson played an instrumental role in establishing Crypton Home as a leading name  in residential performance fabrics. She joined Crypton as the company was expanding  its renowned contract textile technology into the consumer home furnishings market and was charged with developing the consumer-facing brand and marketing strategy for the  emerging Crypton Home business.

Working collaboratively across sales, outreach, product development, and design,  Gabrielson helped translate Crypton’s longstanding reputation for textile innovation into  a brand that resonated with an entirely new audience. Through integrated content  campaigns, strategic partnerships, immersive brand experiences, industry events,  influencer and media engagement, and product launches, she helped accelerate  awareness of Crypton among furniture and textile manufacturers, retailers, interior  designers, and design-minded consumers.

Among the initiatives developed during her tenure are comprehensive pull-through  marketing programs connecting manufacturers and retailers with consumers;  imaginative experiential activations and relationship-building events; and the launch and  promotion of innovations including Crypton’s Performance Recycled Cottons. Her work,  combined with the efforts of Crypton’s sales, outreach, design, and product  development teams, helped establish Crypton Home as a leading performance textile  brand in residential furniture manufacturing, the design trade, and retail.

Today, Gabrielson’s leadership extends across the broader Crypton organization. She  oversees marketing strategy and brand communications across residential and  commercial channels, working to ensure that the company speaks with a cohesive and  distinctive voice while tailoring its message to audiences ranging from architects and  designers to retailers, manufacturers, media, influencers, and consumers.

Her influence also extends well beyond her role at Crypton. Gabrielson has served for  three years on the Board of Directors of the International Textile Alliance (ITA) and  will assume the role of President in September 2026, reflecting her commitment to  advancing and supporting the textile and home furnishings industries as a whole.

Her leadership has earned national industry recognition. Gabrielson was named to  Home Furnishings Business magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2018 and has also  been recognized among Furniture Today’s 40 Under 40, honors recognizing emerging  leaders making a meaningful impact on the home furnishings industry.

Prior to Crypton, Gabrielson served as Product Merchandising and Marketing Manager  at Arden Companies, where her work included launching the Bombay Outdoors  furniture brand. Earlier in her career, she worked at advertising agency Team Detroit,  managing design projects for major automotive brands including Ford Motor Company  and Lincoln. Those experiences provided a foundation in brand building, merchandising,  creative execution, and consumer marketing that continues to inform her leadership  today.

Colleagues know Gabrielson for the passion, optimism, and energy she brings to her  work, along with an instinct for connecting people, brands, and ideas. She is particularly  passionate about developing partnerships and strengthening the relationships that  move the home furnishings industry forward. Her combination of strategic thinking,  creativity, relationship building, and enthusiasm has made her both a key contributor to  Crypton’s growth and an increasingly influential leader within the broader industry.

Gabrielson lives in the Detroit area, near Crypton’s headquarters. Away from work, she  and her family are devoted animal lovers and share their home with dogs Sugar Ann  and Rodeo and cat Calvin, while also occasionally fostering rescued animals awaiting  their forever homes. And, appropriately for a household filled with pets, there is no  shortage of Crypton fabric in the Gabrielson home.

Working closely with her colleagues in the Sales and Outreach divisions, Elise takes a keen interest in nurturing brand partnerships and industry relationships with passion and energy. The results are evident and have resulted in significant benchmarks for the brand, placing Crypton among the top most-recognized home fabric technology brands.

Virtually unknown to the consumer a few years ago, Crypton Home is now a featured fabric brand in such top home furnishings retailers as Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn CB2, Arhaus, Ethan Allen, Stickley, Calico Corners, Joann and at online favorites including One Kings Lane, High Fashion Home, Lulu and Georgia, fabric.com and Furnitureland South.

Elise was named among Home Furnishings Business Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2018 and participates in the Young Textile Professionals group. Prior to joining Crypton, she was a Product Merchandising and Marketing Manager at Arden Companies where she launched the Bombay Outdoors furniture brand. At the Team Detroit advertising agency, she worked on design project management for brands including Ford Motor Company and Lincoln brand national cars.

Detroit area nonprofits where Elise donates her time and energy include Gleaners Food Bank and Greening of Detroit. She lives there with her fiancée and their animals, all of whom enjoy the ease and beauty of Crypton upholstery throughout their genuine mid-century “Alcoa Care-Free” home. Says Elise, “I just love the true Americana of it, and that their brochure for the house back in 1957 said, ‘Here is your dream house made real.’ It’s a timeless sentiment. That’s exactly what I want for everyone who owns Crypton fabrics. Their dream house made real.”

Texpert Advice

1. What career opportunity, challenge, or decision had the biggest impact on your professional growth, and what did it teach you?

I made a really big jump from marketing and advertising world to home textiles with no experience or previous knowledge and I am SO GLAD THAT I DID. I was scared to make such a drastic change.

2. Looking back at the beginning of your career, what is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you, and how would it have changed your path?

Being your own advocate when it comes to salaries, not being afraid to have the conversation.

3. What personal quality or skill has contributed most to your success, and how can someone intentionally develop it early in their career?

I think trying to learn all areas of the companies I have worked for has helped me. As a marketer it helps frame perspective or helps solve problems faster if you understand your organization. Also be a problem solver. I always say nothing is impossible to figure out...it might be hard but we can always come up with something if we have all of the info!

4. What is the most valuable professional lesson you've learned through a setback or mistake, and how has it shaped the way you lead today?

Mistakes are ok. Its what you learn from them that help you grow.

5. What changes or opportunities do you see shaping the future of the home furnishings and textile industry, and what skills should emerging professionals focus on to prepare?

I think technology will always be a tool for any career. Being ok with asking questions and showing vulnerability is OK. Its OK to not know things and its so much fun to learn. You have to be comfortable with yourself to ask questions.

6. What has been the most rewarding part of your career, and what keeps you passionate about this industry today?

The most rewarding part of my career are the amazingly talented team members at Crypton. From the marketing team to our sales teams and everything in between I am inspired by them all everyday and they make work really fun.
